After securing a sizable funding allotment from the NYC School Construction Authority, Type A Projects principals transformed 510 Waverly Avenue from a derelict ice cream factory into a vibrant K-8 school serving 700 students annually. From site acquisition in a difficult real estate market to a complicated gut renovation, our team delivered an inspiring school building, leveraging designs by Rogers Marvel Architects and Pentagram Design, to benefit some of the city’s hardest working students and teachers. The facility includes 33 classrooms, music rooms, art studios, a gymnasium, and rooftop play spaces.
